Neil & John met when grafting on the construction site of Castle Stuart Golf Links - a project that won Golf Magazine's 'Best New International Golf Course' of 2009.
Islander Golf has been involved in a range of projects with Gil Hanse, Golf Magazine's 'Architect of the Year' for 2009.
Islander Golf's first excursion into golf course renovation - at Aberdovey Golf Club in Wales - was integral in the course winning a regional Environmental Award from BIGGA and being invited to host the 2011 Welsh Amateur Championship & 2014 R&A Ladies' Home Internationals.
John Kemp is a member of the Scottish Association of Golf Course Architects and youngest ever Graduate of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects.

John grew up on the on the Orkney Islands off the north coast of Scotland.
Having studied his bachelor's degree for 3 years in Dornoch he 'cut his teeth' with internships on the construction of DMK Golf Design's Castle Course in St Andrews, and then Mark Parsinen & Gil Hanse's Castle Stuart Golf Links in the Scottish Highlands.
He produces Islander Golf's design work; course audits, masterplans, construction plans, hand-renderings, & photo-visualisations. When onsite he project-manages construction and shapes his designs by machine & hand.
Neil is a qualified greenkeeper who learnt the trade at his home-links of Brora in the north of Scotland. At the same time he studied at Elmwood College just outside of the home of golf - St Andrews.
Neil spent a year at Augusta National - annual venue of The Masters - on a greenkeeping internship before returning to Scotland to join the construction team at Castle Stuart Golf Links.
With an exceptional eye for natural landforms and a deft touch in a machine Neil heads-up Islander Golf's onsite shaping & construction aswell as the intricate details of our in-the-field design.
